Relics of North Georgia

I don’t normally focus on relics as a subject matter but for this show I began to scout out items and areas where these items may be found.  I actually located quite a few and gained a deeper appreciation for the North Georgia area and the landmarks of eras gone by.

I am so pleased to have been called to look and find some treasures that just happen to be relics, also I am grateful to the Bowen Center for selecting all three of my submitted works. Papa’s Home, Early Riser, Farm House Door

Night of Hope

An Evening Celebrating and Supporting ALS Research.

Brought to you by
The Muscular Dystrophy Association

Farm House Door, taken in Rutledge, Georgia, is to be placed up for auctioned at the upcoming 2009 “Night of Hope” Gala.  This is the fourth annual Night of Hope Gala, an evening celebrating and supporting ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease) and will take place October 2, 2009 at the Intercontinental Hotel Buckhead.

Since the first event in 2006, over $1.35 million has been raised to fund research for the treatments and cure of the debilitating disease. The black-tie event is expecting 600 people in attendance and is anticipated to raise more than $700,000. The funds are allocated for the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s ALS Division, which leads the worldwide scientific search for treatments and a cure for ALS. This devastating neuromuscular disease affects more than 30,000 Americans. Currently, more than 200 Georgians are affected with ALS.
